ok ruperto

think of it as growing aquatic plants 'medium-less' in a tank that feeds the pump.

That way all the solid fish waste would accumulate amounts the plant roots.

My thinking is that aquatic plants would be able ta brake down those solids a lot faster than any other thing.

And if the fish like to eat the plant so much the better.

The next question is if fish waste derived from plants is easier ta break down or fish waste derived from pellets are easier to brake down.

I like the horn idea, ive read of a world record holder for the largest vegtables doing a similar thing, but collecting soil samples from some of the largest rainforests and different soil types as possible and then culturing out the bacteria and fungi to water his soil with. Probably a little better then just the organism on your own farm.

With the aquatic plants idea, ive seen a similar thing but for cleaning grey water from a shower and washing machine using marsh reeds. It worked a treat....

Glad to see that the moon phases have been mentioned again.
I now no longer am amazed at the results(difference) of planting at the correct time.I have used planting by the moon for many years.
Also I go fishing only the days recommended.

Another energy related crackpot scheme..
How about a greenhouse that automatically insulates itself when it gets dark?
This one will hopefully become reality later this year

Hex- what is yr plan or is it secret?
bk- think they are almost the begining of the food chain that we can see with the naked eye.
How do you find fishing with the moon. if you love fishing I am sure your tempted by a nice evening to go fishing( like I sometines do) and then regret the waste of time(in the main) though I can always catch whiting and herring...maybe even a skippy.

Remember, fishing by the moon is species specific (try saying that twenty times with a mouthful of popcorn).....

Just as planting of certain species is more aligned to certain phases, so are fish... ohh...and don't forget to factor in the tidal flow effects as well.

snook can only be causght on a full moon (or is it the opposite). Just remember being on a jetty as a teenager with this crazy guy drinking port from a coke bottle pulling in snook after snook. He only went there to fish when the moon was in a certain phase (just can't remember which one LOL)

using bacteria from brackish water sounds nice as i have seen tilapia grown to about 20in in brackish water i have always thought you could improve your system a lot if we understood the bacterial process better
