Skype was much much better than regular telephone when we had to call Poland last year.

Yes from time to time. She said she was excited to watch the "superball" this Sunday (she meant Super Bowl). She's always trying to get better work to help pay for school, there are a lot of barriers in the US for immigrants who want to make it.

Hi everybody, I received the following a few day ago:

It appears that Skype users are currently under attack from a new worm that spreads via Skype’s chat feature.

The attack comes in the form of an instant message from either an existing contact or an unknown Skype user. To date, several versions of the chat messages have been identified, though the actual contents of it is not relevant.

Suffice to say that even Skype made the admission that they are “cleverly written [to fool]” in the Skype heartbeat blog. While the link appears to be a JPEG photo file, it is in effect a script.

The hapless user who runs it, after being suitably prompted by Windows, will be infected.

An infected computer will then attempt to propagate by sending chat messages to other Skype users.

For more information about the Skype worm, check out these news sources:

· Warning To Skype Users: Beware Of New Worm (InformationWeek)

· Skype Worm Attacks Security Software (PC Magazine)

· Skype Worm on the Loose (PC World)

Yep you're right Heka, the virus is called “w32/Ramex.A”.... is only affecting users of Skype for Windows.

Users whose computers are infected with this virus will send a chat message to other Skype users asking them to click on a web link that can infect the computer of the person who receives the message.

Please note that Skype users ONLY become infected after they have downloaded the link and run the malicious software.

Skype has been in contact with the leading antivirus software companies about this worm, and they are updating their software to effectively stop this worm and as well as its side effects. Currently, F-Secure and Kaspersky Lab have already updated their antivirus products to detect and remove the worm.
