No such thing as an assumed bracket, the * is simply done before the +.
Operator precedence is a big thing in safety critical software certification for exactly this reason.
BTW Win7 calculator, Win Vista 32 calculator and even the mind numbingly crap iPhone calculator all say 13.

So.. isn't that effectively saying that the "1*0" is done first.. resulting in "0"... and that the answer is thus 13... (the result of the additions and subtractions)

Isn't that then an "assumed" bracket??... or indeed two "assumed" brackets...

You could put a bracket in there and it wouldnt change the outcome. But no it isnt assumed there is one there.

ie 1+(1x0) is the same result as 1+1x0

No, because an assumed bracket would take precedence over everything.
The order of evaluation is simple, defined and absolutely immune to any misinterpretation :)

Well... yes it is.... as exactly you point out.... otherwise, if it wasn't... then it could be said to be 1+1=2.... x 0 ... =0 .... :D

But that's exactly what you've previously said..... that the "1*0".... takes precedent.... i.e, it's an assumed bracket...

No because a bracket would take precedence over the *.
It's just order of evaluation, nothing assumed, simple rules.

But you have said that the precedence is the last two numbers... the multiplication... 1*0...

If the precedence was merely left to right... then the last operation... is a multiplication by zero....

It can only be an assumed bracket.. in order to take the last two numeral operations....
