so to recap on the most important ones............. you leave school when you're 17, you can drink when you're 18 and get a car licence when you're 18, but can't have a drink (at all) and drive until you're 21 ;)

And those damned yellow lights.........

Oh, and the bracks government in victoria has discovered multiple new gold mines............they've been named mobile speed cameras, fixed speed cameras and variable speedlimit signage

The drink and drive thing is different in WA Steve. We can in fact get our license at 17 if we wanted to. For two years on P plates we have to have a blood alcohol reading below 0.02 % which is like one beer in two hours. After that we switch to the normal 0.05 %. Plus we don't need to have our cars go through the pits every year to register.

What is the legal blood alcohol limit in other areas of the world?

the roady worthy every year isn't in place in VIC, i think its just NSW?

Vic P platers are on 0.00% BAC for all of their 3 years then it reverts to <0.05% for fully licenced drivers I write < becasue its recently been changed, so a reading of 0.05% is actually an offence to my understanding.

I never drink and drive but... bloody hell, tis a bit strict. 3 years on P plates? And zero alcohol tolerance... Suppose it is a good thing though.

Qld is changing driving laws (teens keep running into trees and walls :( )

It will be Learners at 16, held for 2 years minimum, BAC 0%. Open Licence after the 2 years (tested) and BAC up to 0.05%

We don't have to put our cars over the pits, but we have some shocking road conditions instead.

We too have the voluntary taxation system of red-light cameras and speed cameras.

Where is it white?!

I had heard that when margarine (kills me when people call it butter) came into fashion it was a dull grey colour and needed yellow colourings added to give it market acceptance..................it worked

American cooking shows have white butter (yes I watch too much lifestyle channel). Just yesterday I saw an old Seinfeld where Kramer was using butter for shaving, and if it wasn't white it was very pale, certainly not yellow

They called it butter and it was wrapped in foil rather than a tub. I can't believe it wasn't butter :)
