Nice harvest Matthew ! You said 1kg was the biggest, what was the average & how long were they in the system for ?
I just had my first harvest of silvers & for 18 months the average was 356g. Just trying to get an idea of there growth rates. I live in Geraldton so I don't know if climate/water temps are contributing factors ?

Thanks

Thanks gt , That was whole with guts they haven't been fed for a couple of day, nice solid fish . Those that I caught would've averaged 850gm probably...it was a bit of an (un)lucky dip really it did look like some bigger ones in there. I find 800-1250gm fish gives up a decent fillet. Good enough for a feed. As to age , couldn't rightly say.....best guess 3.... could be older. Every year for the past 5 years I get 50 at a time ( although I skipped last year ) chuck them in a 5000lt tank with 100+ others and scoop out a few when the mood takes me , as well as the trout gaining size. Last year I only harvested 25 some went a bit over 1kg. If you look back on the previous page some of those photos are 2 years old
I would like to re-organize things here and have a tank for each age group so I can harvest all of each years and eliminate any underperforming runts
I would think up there in Lobsterland mean temps. would be quite a bit higher than here giving you a higher growth rate.
Hope that helps ....
Cheers

As for Charles's comment :funny1: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: :bootyshake: : :thefinger:
