I have a friend who i wouldnt consider dumb by any means, but he thought (may still) that you can beat the house at blackjack, etc by doubling up every bet, because eventually when you win, you will win everything you ever bet plus more.

Smart people can have stupid ideas sometimes.

Ho! That system does really work, Yavimaya! Only not with blackjack but with roulette. Bet red or black, and keep doubling, until you win. I made a living out of it for sometime in my younger years. Sure case, but never do it in a quiet casino, or the croupier will screw you when he sees it. They know the system,so change tables regularly and don't stay too long in one casino. It's a very old gambling system....but it works if they let you (don't catch you with it).

My son was telling me how gambling can be an addiction and that it is bad, I agreed and stated that its really hard to stop once you are addicted to something which makes it even worse. He replied "Yes dad I know, like your aquaponic's addiction.... "

BTW, it was one of the most dull things I've ever done. Sitting on a roulette table, knowing you will win in the end anyway is boring like ........hearing Obama and or his servants talking about Syria. You know what is coming but you'll have to sit through the bullshit.
