Beeing computer eliterate how do you link to another thread like in some they say see HERE

F&F,

you can't put a link like that in a "quick reply" (not easily anyway), but if you use the "Post a Reply" button, you are taken to another screen (says "subject, message icon, message body.... etc"

Just below message body there are a number of buttons. In the last lot of buttons you'll see

"# #php a message bubble a globe with a chain link across it an email logo an e web logo ............ etc"

To insert a link to a webpage, type the message leading up to your link, then click on the globe and chain button (4th one across). A message box will open saying "type the URL..." this is the http: web address. (you can copy and paste the address too) Click OK, then type a name for the web site. Many people put the "here" then.

Does all this make sense?

I tried what you indicate Jaymie, and my pop-up just gives an error message..."Error: You didn't write the URL.You didn't write the page name."

Ok .. try this....

write message... then when you want to insert the url go ...

"[url=urladdress]Pointer (ie HERE)[/url]"

To make it work.. dont include the quotes ""... just there to make sure the system doesn't try and show as a url...

copy url address link from the page you are viewing and paste after the [/url= ..... close ] immediately after that then type comment line "HERE" then add a space and close the argument with [/url]

Sure I can type it, but I wanna just push the button.

I simply clicked on post a reply and then clicked on the globe with a chain link. Fill in the webpage name(you can copy and paste from the browser window) when it asks for a web page name, simply write the word "Here" and hit enter. When you hit submit it should work like this.

That was a brazen way to get people to go to my webpage.

heh Mick. We do-gooders come in all shapes and sizes. In the end it is what is on the inside. What was this thread about anyway?
