I don't spoke the wacky, but what you say about the smoking and drinking is equally relevant to tobaco, which I assume you quit at the same time. It's amazing how you can drink and drink with only a minor hangover when you don't smoke - but with the smoke you would have a thumper.

Yep I'm only a passive smoker now Parties, Pubs, camp fires, bush fires ect.

I find if I consume Red wine with any other alcohol the hangover is a bit worse, But that still might be because I'm not to keen on wine, I'm more a beer and/or bourbon bloke but if I run out of both and most of my friends are red wine drinkers (these are usual the places I would run out) and I still feel like a bit more, wine mainly red is usually available.

That's becuase smoking dehydrates you...so drinking alcohol which dehydrates you followed by a pack of ciggies really dehydrates you..thus making the hangover worse.

Interesting, I often wondered how much cigarettes contributed to my hangovers as too many cigarettes in an evening doesn't need any alcohol to give you a rough morning.

I've stopped drugs (mind altering) of all description. It is a recent turn of events. I'm 40 this year and thought I might as well try and grow up but don't worry the sense of humour is well intact.

Cigarettes must go as well but they're helping me through the early days of being a sober individual.

See the cancer warnings on cigarette packets. and now you have the pictures. Cigarettes cause gum cancer - and there's some poor blokes mouth all green and ulcer filled with decay.

Take the advertising further.

Chamomile tea - and there's some spinster sitting alone with all her cats.

I'm at the stage where a late night has the effect of a hangover.
