Nice..... sometimes the old methods are under rated, considering that your temps were pretty high a few days back when it wasn;t really that hot.

seriously guys - <24 tank temp for 2 - 4 days as long as the water is ok (Amm, PH etc as in stable) and you have lots of oxygenation and i mean lots - is not something to totally freak about. Once you are looking at 26.5 upwards, is when the work begins. Rainbows thrive at 18 - 18.5 - its their best temp (from spending a little time at a trout farm) :thumbleft:

The highest I saw the temp in my tank was 22. Was considering turning off growbeds but the media was still cool to touch. Also thought about implementing some of Freoboy's ideas. Hopefully we will get some cooler weather next week.

My tanks got to 25.8 degC. Good thing I harvested 20+ trout this morning. Still a few left in the tank I believe. Having been running the growbeds constant flood for a week or so. So far it looks like the rest of the trout are still handling the warmer water with heaps of air bubbling away...

Well it looks like next week, there are some warmer days again... Might be the end of the line for the trouts... welcome the barra...

Good to see Freoboy, after all, that is what it is all about isn't it. Growing them, harvesting them, cooking them and eating them.

You people are not the ones that I worry about, but think of the new to AP person, with no experience that goes out for lunch, stays longer than expected or has a busy weekend and the temp peaks higher than expected. By the time they look in the tank - it is too late.
Sounds like you did the right thing Ivan, mine are fine too, not sure of the temp, but water is cool to the touch and they are happy enough, I did regular checks today. Looks like we might get a bit extra weight on some of them.
