I know a lot of time and toil went into making sure Y2K would be a nonissue. I remember not being able to be with my family due to such time and toil. So what's your point.

I had a computer business from 1997 to 2002 and did quite well out of the Y2K thing, not from ripping people off but from installing stuff on business computers that the companies thought (and more than likely) they needed, we were all a bit naive at the time and didn't know what to expect, it was plausible that if the precautions weren't taken then we could of had world wide disruption, but not the end of the world. It's fine to say that nothing happened at Y2K but as Smin highlights a lot of work was done to prevent it. The problem wasn't with home PC's as such.

The book sales are exceeding expectations and those from the forum that have paid for a copy I will have them out by tomorrow morning, I unfortunately have a real job as well..
The book isn't about ripping people off, quite the opposite, so why am I selling it, 1) a lot of research in a short time went into it,
2) a huge percentage of sales is being donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service Western Australia Wing
3) you get nothing for nothing these days
My book isn't promoting the end of the world, I am not a Loony (Believe it or not, I know some would argue) :D you have to look at the facts, some people are donating their life savings to help rebuild the world after it is annihilated :dontknow:
I actually knew nothing about the so called end of the world until this thread was started, in a short time I have read every theory and every bit of information about 21-12-2012 and the Mayan Calendar system, my book actually has a brief look at all the theories and possibilities and then ends with my theory, if I am wrong then you get a 100% Money Back Guarantee and the RFDS gets to keep the money donated to them :thumbleft:
I am not profiteering, I was going to be happy if I made a carton of beer out of sales and made a small donation to RFDS.
Sales a going great, and yes Faye Teresa may get the kitchen yet :dontknow:, but then again it's my book and not hers
If you want to check it out go here http://www.mayan2012.paulnock.net/ if you don't want to check it out then stay here at the BYAP forum, but don't knock the idea until you know the outcome

Nocky's Book wrote:
I decided to put this together after reading conflicting reports on the internet, many people are concerned about what will happen to the world on 21-12-2010.
I am not a Psychic (or Psycho) nor a Clairvoyant and I don’t have Supernatural Powers, I am a normal Australian with a good sense of humour, I work as a Manager in a large Western Australian Agricultural Machinery dealer, I also enjoy a beer and watching sport, on 21-12-2012 I will be just over 51 years of age.

The end of world theory is mainly based on the Mayan Calendar coming to an end and the movie “2012, the Mayan’s were very good astronomers and over 5000 years ago had figured that 365 days was 1 year, the Mayans used as many as 17 calendars but the one we will focus on mainly is known as the Long Count. The calendar and how it works will be explained in full detail further on. Other sources have predicted the end of the world, Nostradamus and the Book of Revelations for example, many other religious sects also have their own theories, and again these will be explained further on.

What is supposed to happen? This depends on where information is sourced, one theory is that all the planets will align perfectly causing the earth to shift on its axis and spin off into space, another along the same lines suggest the earth will start to spin in the opposite direction, some say the earth will split in half or be hit by a rogue planet, Nibiru, or even a giant meteor. Are any of these theories plausible? What I think will happen is written in my summary, what you think will happen is entirely up to you.
I will simply explain the facts and you draw your own conclusion, I hope the information here will help you better to come to that conclusion.

Should you donate to websites suggesting the money will go back to saving the planet after 2012 or are they scam? Again this is up to you, in my summary I will detail my suggestion to answer this question.
In this book I will explain how the Mayan Calendar works, the meanings of symbols in the calendar, I will also explain some religious theories and beliefs, (none of the beliefs are necessarily my own), I will show some examples of Nostradamus’s predictions and explain the Nibiru theory.

I'm now taking bets and offering a zillion to one odds.

Here's how it will work.

You send an amount of your choosing to my paypal account, then... well that's it really. You just send an amount of money to my paypal account.
