hey all

this subject comes up now and again and i was curious to the knowledge of this group.

have some govenments sold the rights to water??

a quick google search talks of a certain international company, who owns rights to seed dna, have been tryin to but water rights.

i have heard from farmers in victoria that the state gov sold the rights for cash bail outs some years ago... and now have to pay for the potential of stored water on their properties. that is they have to pay for water tank volume even if it is empty... same with dams..

does anyone know of similar stories... facts or myths??

thanks
