how good am i?

can tell that i have high ph from the stunted growth and obvious iron deficiency! tested at 8.0

1 cup of vinegar (i know i've said not to use it as ph can bounce back) and two lemons and system is now at 7.5 (and yes i know that was a bit much of a step change ;))

will check again tomorrow.

Dan, that plant in your picture looks very suspicious........ as does the pre bloom caption, LOL.

Sorry about that, but I was to lazy to draw a new picture. I found that one a while back when I was first getting into hydroponics. While not always the most reputable source of info, the pot growers were some of the first with free info. Of course I found AP as my organic hydroponics and so I never looked back; until now. It might be the way to go. I used an earth box years back which was a large pot with potting soil. It has a water chamber in the bottom and two narrow channels of soil to wick the moisture up to the plant. Then a nitrogen fertilizer was poured on top where moisture condensing on the plastic cover would drip and wash it slowly down into the soil. It grew like mad! Now Im thinking AP water would work for both water and nitrogen source while the soil could provide all the missing nutrients.

I like the idea of putting down a mesh to be able to pull it all out later. That might just save the gravel.
