Whoever gets in will have so much work to do cleaning up the mess that they won't have much time or money to enact any new ideas, maybe for the first couple years anyway. We're broke and the gov't is totally effed up - Thanks Dick Cheney and Dubya!

There is one simple reason why I cannot bring myself to vote for Hillary, and I don't think she could overcome this very easily:

Bush Clinton Clinton Bush Bush - Clinton?

That's not democracy.

Edit: Haha, phpbb doesn't like the VP either, won't allow me to recite his first name.

About as compassionate as a crocodile I reckon, and tears to match....

And from what we've seen from over here... she's certainly been caught out telling some real fibs to make herself look good.....

Nah from afar.... just looks like another party machine hack... all bling, bluff and bullshit.

They are all party machines. If the party doesn't back you, there is no funding! You have no doubt read how much it costs to run for office. I used to check the box on our Fed income taxes to allow $3 of my taxes to be donated to a fund for election. It was designed to allow the non-wealthy to run. There are requirements one must meet to receive the money. Of course, some individuals would rather not abide by them, and others can tap their unlimited wallets. I don't think it has helped at all. Does anyone?

You'd get more compassion from a mass murderer at least with them you'd have 50/50 chance of a quick death

From what I can tell every Politician is related to every other Politician irrespective of race creed or national boubdries. True politicians are a inbred lot and they spout the same drivel no matter where they are from.
Every time they parade on stage I hear Dueling Banjos

I liked this quote:
Quote:
College is basically a job that pays negative $25,000+ a year. Well as Einstein famously said “Intelligence is not the ability to store information, but to know where to find it” and it is our schools who place huge importance on memorizing facts and exam results that are not heeding this brilliant advice. We should be teaching our kids how to find answers to their questions they may have in the future. We should be giving them the answers to the questions they ask of us not forcing them to memorize texts. We should be encouraging them to make mistakes and learn from them and not punishing them. We should be teaching them important tasks.

I mean what in life besides a degree can can you forget the second you have passed the test.

College teaches you more how to lift the man at the top of the pyramid and a little about building the people under you if you are going into high positions. Then sticks a label on you calling you uneducated (idiot) without their degree because you are less valuable if you do not produce more for society (the man at the top).

Now, Im think education is essential, so don't think I'm against it. The question is what are we being tough and how? I learned more about programing a computer writing games and applications on my own that I ever learned from college. In-fact I had to instruct the instructor. The founding statement for the TEA (I think) sums up the current education system. "..to create a type of citizen.."

Seems to be a common problem here in the States. They push to get the kids to memorize facts so they can retain it long enough to pass the mandated testing. Then they forget about it or start shoving new useless facts into them for the next test.
Much better to teach them how to answer their own questions so they can gain skills through out life.

Thats probably the one thing my Mom and Dad instilled in my was a love of chasing down my own answers to my hair-brained questions

Something I have seen lacking in the present schooling system

Yep... fundamental philosophical problem....

Do we "train" our kids or educate them.... sadly the corporate world tends to dictate that we train them....

And trained people are more readily controlled than educated people.....

Those we can't train very well.... we subjugate with drugs and alcohol.... or religion
