R22 is much more stable in demand than R12 because the lifecycle turnover of home A/Cs is much longer than that of car A/Cs.

just back from a AC trade show at the exhibition buildings.

R-22 replacements are already available for purchase. one is a drop in blend with a horrible temperature glide, the other is a HC refrigerant.

Either way it cant hurt to stock up on "free" R-22
