got a bowfin yesterday along with 2 little brim (which mysteriously disappeared by the time i got home) gonna try to catch some more brim though after i see how well the bowfin does this week. |

and the 2 little warmouth brim are in there....couldnt see through the algae until now and are looking healthy |

Bowfin were the bane of our canepole fishing existence lol. Used to ahte hooking one while stumpknocking for warmouth and bluegill. Theyd break our leaders off usually. Never tried eating one but I hear they are like eating cotton. |

If u have a female bowfin man u have a delecacy on ur hands. The eggs are what american caviar is made from. But if u have them in a pond they will eat all your small fish. They are harder on small fish then bass. |
