The river definitely has a stigma. Many people fear the river, and think they will catch communicable diseases from it. It does have a lot of visible trash, and in the last few years, many homeless encampments have sprung up along it's banks. Much of the water that runs through it is reclaimed waste water, and runoff. I love it, and it makes for a fun day in the city. |
