Been getting out in the yak a bit of late, and had a trip put on a friends boat today. Freezer has a nice selection now ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() apologies for the PB link, but its too musch hassle to downsize for this forum and host them on PB for other forums. |

Nice, we call the first one a wahoo. Don't know what the fat ones are? Plenty of sharks around here also...always a fun time on light tackle, and a good last resort when the others don't cooperate. Drop a chum bag in a wait about 20 minutes...they'll come.lol |

Yeah, king it is...It looked like a wahoo with the weird striping. Here, wahoo are an offshore fish, where the largest kings are often caught closest to shore. We call them "smokers" cause they will smoke your drag if you don't have a good, smooth one. Our largest is a 42 lb. |

Pretty good on the chew as well and a large amount of meat per fish. Love them smoked as well. Had just the head for dinner the other night - so much meat on just the head - over fed two of us - nice and easy just bake it in the oven, then the remains go to the compost heap. Dog gets the belly flaps, so nothing is wasted. Never got a wahoo - tend to be more offshore here as well. |
