Woot woot finally got out one parents boat for one of the biggest salmon runs of the summer. We brought home 32 Sockeye (limit for 4 Ppl over 2 days). Huge run this year and still in full swing caught a lot of these in the first hour.. very typical of sockeye fishing tons of action non stop as fast as you can get the down rigger's down already have another fish on.. double headers... insanity.. Probably 500 - 600 sport fishers out in the port alberni inlet wall to wall boats.. Now that im all sockeye'ed out gearing up the 6wt fly rod for the pink salmon run in 2 -3 weeks.. Stand at local beaches near river mouths and hang on for the best 3 - 5 lb up to 10lb scrappers.. pinks love to run will posts some pics of this years pink salmon trips but for now some pictures of our last weekend sockeye fun! Havent landed any big Chinook (Spring salmon) this year but runs for that will be starting a little later in the season. as well as coho and dog salmon also later in the year. Haven t had the chance to do any cod fishing this year but earlier in the season parents pulled up a few 20 Lbs Lingcod not to shabby.. next weekend they are going north island for Pacific Halibut 50 - 200 lbs and Big Spring/Chinook 30Lbs+. Also I have been hitting lakes and rivers pretty hard .. Had a pretty successful day on local lake bass fishing in the float tube a few days ago.. lots of fish a few decent sized ones.. guess they all cant be monsters. No big trout this year yet... but want to hit some local river mouths to try and pick up some nice sea run cuthroat trout.. or the elusive summer steelhead.. well enjoy the pics
Good look slayin dem fish!

My perents boat is a 2000 Bayliner 2858 command bridge (pilot house up top as well as down below for those days when you dont wanna sit outside in the rain) with a 7.4L Mercruiser bigblock EFI and Bravo 3 twin prop leg, Awsome layout sleeps 6 comfortably easly handle 8 ppl on board with room to spare... its a nice boat for sure... $700 in fuel to fill it up and its a thirsty pig if your not putting around hahah. If you think the boat is nice you should see the $13000 all aluminum tri axle trailer its sitting on.. custom made for our boat.. Disc brakes on every axle as required by law for that size of boat. Electric over hydrulic brakes that stop on a dime.

British Columbia, Canada is a world class Salt/Freshwater fishing location. 2 towns on the Vancouver Island have been named salmon fishing capital of the world 1st place is Campbell River and 2nd place was Port Alberni I love living here.. wouldn't trade it for the world.. theirs well over 1000 lakes and rivers on the island alone and some of them are quite large.. even witin a 50km radius i have like 50 rivers and like 10 lakes to choose from that all have decent fishing and the ocean is like 10 min away.. and fishing jsut 15 min outside the harbour. But if you want world class trout fishing need to get off the island and hit some of the interior lakes/Rivers of BC
