Salvinia molesta, a bad pest plant in waterways around the world. DO NOT release it to the wild.

Silvers may eat it, give it a try.

It is a declared noxious weed here in Perth and there are fines issued by the Ag Dept if you knowingly grow it and do not dispose of it. Doubles rapidly in warm weather and can choke waterways and ponds.

Makes a great mulch if you dispose of it slowly in the garden over time.

Oh!!! Thank you for letting me know so quickly, I only just got given it last week. I will pull it all out of the tank it's in.

Could I feed it to the Silvers to get rid of what I have? Not sure if it's poisonous to them.

Guess I need some real duck weed now. I'd better tell my mate what it is to!

Thanks

Shaun
