Hi guys, Not sure if anyone could help... but is this a weed or a seedling?? How do you tell if they are weeds??

Definitely a seedling, but looks like a thistle seedling to me. I don't know of any edible (except maybe artichokes) that has little spines along the leaf margins, if that is what those are. |

Thanks guys, never thought that weed can get up to the growbeds. Maybe I should start killing the weeds in my backyard... |

At least they are very easy to pull from gravel. |
