Any ideas why my eggplant keep dropping flowers and not fruiting?

could be too hot? tried hand pollinating?

So, for hand-pollinating, I need to cross-pollinate between 2 separate plants, right?

Probably not, I think tomatoes will pollinate from the same plant and they're in the same family...

thanks - bit of a moot point really, as I have 2 plants with 1 flower each

So, for hand-pollinating, is there any special technique? I simply ran my finger over the flower on each plant.

Could also be extreme weather... Or perhaps the plant is putting all it's energy into plant growth rather than fruit ATM.. How big is the plant? I'd only start worrying when the plant is large and mature and not producing fruit.

It is a member of the Solanaceae family,
which includes other vegetable crops such as
tomatoes, potatoes and capsicums.

The optimum growing temperature range is
21°–30°C, with a maximum of 35°C and a
minimum of 18°C. The optimum soil temperature
for seed germination is 24°–32°C.

Maybe a little bit too hot atm? Currently around mid-30s here in Brisbane.

Mine are just starting to flower now so Iainterested in the feed back here.

i currently have the long thin ones in the ground ( my system has to much in it at the moment )
and havent had this problem this year but have in the past with other larger varities

still interested in an answer to avoid this problem next year

could it be the soil isnt fertile enough ?? or something missing in the soil/ system?? weather ??

My eggplant are doing the same, flowering but not fruiting. Can't be a pollination problem I get lots of bees and other bugs. PLants are around 5 months old30cm tall looking healthy otherwise. Is it the Perth heat?
any ideas?

I notice that you have a hole in one of your leaf. So I suspect that a Flea beetles is causing this problem. Follow the link below to find out more about Flea beetles management.
