Not sure where I got the seeds. Only one germinated out of all of them. Most likely not a AP plant or even edible. It has started to crawl up my light cord and is growing like crazy in the last week or so.

I'm going to say I think it's a bean plant but I'm not sure. |

The heart shaped leaves are the the first ones that come from the seed germinating. All the other leaves are the staggered sets of 3 leaves. I have tried plant identification websites and not had any luck either. |

Kinda reminds me of red malabar spinach but I don't think malabar has red veins in the leaves. Definitely sounds like an interesting mystery... it might be worth posting some pics once the 3 leaves spread out. |

Pretty sure it's a type of bean just don't know which one. I think you'll start to see flowers pretty soon if there's enough light. Probably either a lima bean or a hyacinth bean (aka lablab bean) although there may be others with similar leaf patterns. |

Leaves look the same after opened. Seeds did come from a pod. I have a bad looking seed that I did not plant that I found. The one seed that germinated looked more jellybean shape.

Probably not a lima bean with that color. Looks a lot like a Hyacinth bean seed with the color and the white along the edge. http://floridata.com/Plants/Fabaceae/Dolichos%20lablab/612 http://picketfencegreenhouse.dianemumm.com/category/save-your-seed/ Apparently the dried beans are toxic until properly cooked. |
