I was surprised to find no topic on shallots! I'm growing a few just to see how tasty they are, but I don't know how they behave in AP. How close together can they be planted? What do they look like when they are ready to be harvested? Just some information on them would be interesting.

Hi Harp AP,

Haven't tried them but they should do well, just about every member of the Allium family that I've tried has :thumbright:

So far, Onions looked like Onions, Chives looked like Chives and Leeks looked like Leeks so I'd expect them to look like Shallots.

Cheers

I have tried them and they grow very well.If you like them just put a couple clumps in and you will always be able to go and pick some.
