Well don't worry, here is just what you can do with them. Attachment: 20130318_185925 (Small).jpg [ 126.24 KiB | Viewed 11801 times ] They may be smaller than what you had hoped for but a whole deep fried fish is really quite something. You can google thai style fish and you might be surprised. I have done it with barramundi before and the taste is amazing. Ideal for the lazy fisherperson, just scoop from the tank (ike jime- pierce the brain), pat dry, score the sides and drop in to the deep fryer around 180degrees from memory for around 12 minutes. No skinning, scaling, purging. or gutting. I know you can't believe it can you. I dare you to give it a go. The photo above was taken at a street market in Bangkok last week. My other photos just go to show that nothing is to small to eat up there. |

Thanks so much for making me so hungry! They look so good. I guess I have to call wife and ask to have fish for tonight when I make it home. Also tomorrow will have fish too. |

What better day to harvest a couple than Good Friday? Tonight we tried two different ways: Whole deep fried, and Steamed with ginger, garlic, lemongrass, with a sauce of sesame oil, soy, fish sauce, lime juice, ginger, brown sugar. I was expecting the deep fried one to taste better, but the steamed barra really had a great flavour, and was my favourite... Yummo!

You really can't beat the flavours of garlic, ginger and lemongrass Nebbian. Sounds delightful! Did you find the plain deepfried acceptable? It is certainly quick and easy! I was planning to harvest some today as the weather had cooled in Perth lately, however they ate like they haven't been fed for two weeks, so perhaps I'll keep them on for a bit longer.

Faye, yes the plain deep fried one was amazingly good. It's certainly quick and easy I'm not normally a fan of steamed fish but this one was out of this world. Thanks Mrs Nebbian |
