| Post subject: | Tilapia - what is the best length for harvesting |
I read where it says 500 gm is best for harvest and some say 300 gram. One person refers to fish ready to harvest as "plate size". I find that information almost worthless to work with. I see my fish swimming around and wonder if they are large enough yet to eat. It seems to me to be easier to determine how long a fish is than how much it weights while it is still swimming around. I think for a fish to be harvested it should be at least - how long? how many cm's? 10, 20, or 30 cm's in length? Please advise what you think - all I have is Tilapia. Thanks, John |

http://w.w.w.backyardaquaponics.com/for ... 0&p=132950 I finally found this reference. Seems to answer my questions. Much information there on fish size, weight and length. |
