Hi All, been reading this forum for quite a while & learning, bit slow joining as age hinders my pc & i'net skills (as does fat, flat, farmers fingers) thanxs to Joel at Admin i finally became a member even though being top side of sixty i filled in wrong age section & needed parents approval :funny1: or guardian (later correct obviously needed) can't be let on forum unsupervised
Guess that was a 1st!! Anyway here we go - built a pond 3 years ago, left 2 years to check water levels thru summer, banks fully grassed this winter to attract insects and introduced 250 rainbow trout 2 months ago. these seems very happy, get hand fed morning & night and they get really excited. i spend hours facinated by these little creatures and delight in swating flies and throw in & see how quick fish find them 7 secons record so far. 30 baby marron to be introduced in next 2 weeks to keep bottom clean. only one thing left now is a bore & pump to aeriate & cool water. next big project is aquaponic system, slowly getting bits & pieces together for a trial run, then hope to learn enough to run a good sized system & start perhaps breading trout?!?. time will tell, one step at a time. look forward to sharing adventures & knowledge in this facinating new hobby.
cheers ST

That sounds like where I wanna be in a few years. I just have to convince my sister that her land is no good without a pond and aquaponics facility. :naughty:

I hope you get proper internet approval from you parent/guardian.

Cheers.
