Hi Johnno,
Welcome to the world of AP.
Once the bug hits it can move pretty fast. I bought a book on AP one Friday afternoon by the following Friday we had water pumping through our 1st test system.

How long have you been cycling your system for? With that many fish the Ammonia will build up quite quickly.
When you were at BYAP shop did you pick up a test kit?

Please keep up-dating your thread and sending through the photos and if you have any questions be sure to ask as someone will have already done it, killed it, broken it and then worked it out!

Thanks for the weclome,
Live up in East Kambalda thats why they call us hillbillys.I put a screen mesh on the 205lt drum so they dont go missing to the big tank.I had the tank cycling for two day before adding fish. Its cyclying 15 min on 30 min off.Its cycling day and night. Also have airreator in both tanks.Hope this keeps them happy.Have tested water ph up slightly at 7.2 but has been sitting there from the start.Ammonia seems good and steady with No2/3 at 0

Hi there, it's always great to meet others hooked by the AP bug. I too am new to this hobby and totally addicted.

I am very intreated in your system as it is fairly similar to mine, so it will be interesting to see how they both evolve.

Post lots more pics. You can see ours by following the link below.

We used to live in Kal and loved it.

Take care and good luck
