Hi all. Marten from Adelaide here. Im really keen to start getting into some aquaponics, my head is starting to hurt from all the research :-) Im looking at setting up a small system with about 20 fish max. Ive notcied that quite a few people are using those blue food-grade 200 -300 litre drums. I was thinking i might use the same as it looks like a cheap place to start. Back to the research. Marten |

Welcome Marten If possible, try and find out what was in the barrels before you purchase. It can range from something completely harmless (e.g. vegetable protein extract) through to really toxic shite (herbicides, pesticides, etc). While you can wash them all you want, safer staying away from the more toxics unless you have no choice. All the best |
