Hello all,

I'm Benny, just moved from Tassie to Melbourne and back to Tassie again after a 6 year stint working for the man in the city.. very much over the traffic, congestion and general unhappiness..

SO I've decided to establish an aquaponics and permaculture farm with my pretty lady, we've got a small amount of land, about 2-3 acres.. we alread have half a zoo in the form of 5 dogs and a cat.. I think they are pining for the bush more than us..

Anyway, I'm pretty new to the whole aquaponics thing so I hope to learn a lot from the members of this forum and hopefully meet some like minded tasmanians in the process!

Shall we begin?!

I watched a really interesting story the other night on the ABC about the woman who used to own Kathmandu clothing/camping company, she's now sold up the business and is one of the richest women in Australia.

She has moved to Tassie and is giving millions to support animal welfare causes, educating people about some of the negative aspects of factory farming.

recently she put up millions of her own money as a incentive & reward for prosecutions in relation to animal cruelty and bad farming practice.. I have so much respect for her, and hope to meet her one day to express my gratitude for her generosity...
