Hello from the land of OZ.
People ask where Kansas is all the time, but know it when I say the land of Oz. We're actually known for more than the wizard of oz, part of the wheat belt, and aircraft capital of the world too.I've read up about AP 2 years ago and thought it was really cool, but never really thought I'd try it. Over the last year I've been wanting to set up a small farmers market and like the ideas behind AP.
First system was started in July. A 30 gal tub for FT, and 2 smaller, thinner tubs for GB and a 150 gph pump. Started with 10 goldfish, lost one. Have added two small crayfish to keep the floor clean. Have lettuce mix growing in combination river rock and pea gravel. System is working great. Few tweaks to make it better. Started with a constant flow system, have since put it on a timer.
Gathering materials over the next few weeks to build a greenhouse and a bigger system. Am picking up 4 55 gal drums tomorrow, $5 bucks each. Just found someone with those 275 gal containers for $25 each, but can't afford those till next week and he may run out, so I'm trying to figure out how I want to use those drums. Also wanting to do some vertical systems to have more space.
