The name is Mark and i have been reading for a couple of years. Had a small system set up in my shop with artificial light for a few months and decided to go big or go home I will be asking FT/GB/ST sizing and layout questions later as I get the greenhouse completed. Pictures to follow. Mark |

Hi Mark, Welcome! I can't help you much as I'm a newbie too, but there's a wealth of knowledge in the forum and I too have been reading up for quite some time. On a different note; I lived in Missouri for 3 years (St Louis) and know and love the Mid-West. What part of the Ozarks are you in?... Some great fishing/camping down your way. Good people too! Please post those pics of your system... we love pics! Have a Schlaflys and a pork steak with Mauls for me while you watch the Cards play! |

Hi Mark, being from the Ozarks your possibly near where the Speraneos used to live. They had a great setup there in a greenhouse and they were my early inspirations to get started in aquaponics. I think they may have sold the property and moved on now. |

A few pics of the green house build... I am using a processing called dry stacking. You level the first course in mortar then dry stack ther rest. After stacking you put a 1/8th coat of SBC (Surface Bonding Concrete) for strength. Supposed to be about twice as strong as regular mortar joints. Hea, looking great...... Your Solar GH setup looks like mine, i only wish I'd had a hill to dig into for mine....... viewtopic.php?f=18&t=6279&st=0&sk=t&sd=a I also wish i had found this fourm before i built my GH, i would have built in several features, that i'm now having to do in other ways...... |

I figure it will get use for the miscellaneous work bench, starter plants, sink, fingerling tank, breeding tank, etc. Any opinion on the grow bed layout? The roof on the north side will be solid instead of glazed, my only glazing will be the the 60 degree sloped south roof and the front half of the gables as shown. |

Cool build Mark, You gotta love the Besser (Cinder) Block! Even uninsulated they hold the heat for hours. IMHO the spare space should incorporate a bench for your water testing kit and laptop, drawing pad and pencils (because you're an ideas man) and a beer fridge for thinking with. Oh, and a worm farm. On a serious note, how are you going to run power to the GH? Or is that already there? I see one white PVC pipe but thought that was for water... |

Well progress is slow with the heat, High 90's, and working alone. I have finally got the concrete portion of the walls done.
