Hello everyone ! I stumbled across this site a while back, got curious, did a lot of reading (and yes I put a lot of them notes down in a notebook) and I'm about to put up my first small system (but I already have good idea of my second system... is this normal ?)

I'm about to put up a basic Blue-barrel CHIFT PIST, 50gal. FT (with 6 tilapia fish planned) a SLO going into 4 GB's from 2 vertically-split barrels and a 100 gal. ST. I was supposed to do CF, but seeing here that F/D had more advantages, so F/D it is. I got the barrels, a 35w/Rio21 pump (to be operated 24/7) and the water test kit, but I'm pressed for time at the moment and can only work on it a little at a time :( I just seemed to notice something -- most everyone seems to be going with bell siphons -- are there any disadvantages with loop siphons :dontknow:

And of course, I'll be posting pictures soon !

Welcome ka! Saan ka sa Philippines?

Sounds like you have been bitten by the AP bug! Most people plan their second or third system while still on their first system! :D

Welcome to the boards :wave1: . I love that other pinoys are interested in AP. I was born in Manila but grew up in California.
