Hi all

Have been reading and mucking around setting up my system its been operating for 2 months now.

2500l ft with 1500l water with 50 trout fingerlings about 3wks old 3 big yabbies on bottom of tank hopefully cleaning the bottom

180l yabbie tank 8big yabbies waiting for them to breed. 4male 4 female

600l gb pist feed

gb filled with 10mm blue metal

ammoinia very low

ph 7.6

half finish hot house

Had veg in 3 half barrels cycling water with seasol solution for growth for veg for about 1 month but couldn't wait for cycling to acure. built another 3 gb

Got impaitant so empty water and filled again with dam water
dropped afew eggs in to clear water

Got 50 trout fingerling 3 weeks ago

planted lettuce, snow peas and apple cucumbers from seed at start
planted rhubard, brocolli, cabbage, cauli, leeks, celery, some herbs after we got fish

all going well but not sure if enough fish are in ft for the 600l gb growth doesn't seem to be as fast as others in the forum.

planning now to double gd and build another hothouse structure aswell

any feed back about stocking of fish would be good

If anything, I would say that you are overstocked with fishes for 600L of growbed...

In regards to plant growth, what is your nitrate reading??

Yes, for 50 trout I think you need to add another 1200L of growbeds fairly soon...

Agreed. Plenty of fish.. Need more GBs.

The fast growth may not come for a bit as the system has to mature. Keep an eye on the basic cycling parameters and the ph and be patient... Later micronutrients may be a factor, but those will not be identifiable weaknesses until the system has fully cycled and the ph is within acceptable ranges...
