No.. but you could always purge your fish for a couple of days if in doubt...

I assume you are keeping them in an aquarium tank?? Regardless, just make sure you do use chemicals that the local fish shop would typically recommend... some filtration system actually contains some chemicals to help minimise nitrate production...

So in short, if you want to eat the barra (without poisoning yourself), stick to the basic filtration system...

Thnks for the replies, I was going to try to use the basic bio filter process but try not to use chemicals trying to work out how to put some plants in the fillter system to help with nitrate and nitrite problems.

Float plants on rafts, dunno' if Barra will eat the roots though, I'm not Barra savvy.

Bio & solids filter. Water changes to keep the nitrates down. Or a water transfer between your AP system and the inside tank. How many fish.

Fish numbers not sure got 15 4inch and some slightly bigger the tank is a 500ltr depends on how big the ones are in other tank as have not seen them for a couple of weeks due to green tinge in the water believe it is going through another phase shall be harvesting the big ones but the smaller ones will end up in the internall tank for the winter, and hopfully run some trout out doors again
