Hi All,
I was quite surprised when I found out a bit aquaponics a few weeks ago (BTW the spell check doesn't even know it exists) as I have had a vegie garden over a number of years and always wanted to grow fish to eat, but assumed it couldn't be done. Oops.

We moved house (bigger house, slightly smaller suburban block just around the corner) in ~ November and have been suffering without a vegie garden since. House is great for the troups (4 young kids) but not a lot of backyard.

Looking forward to learning more and planning for an aquaponics system. One question I have that I have not been able to find out about:
From my experience in vegie garden, the more sun the better (well, minus the extreme heat). Is that the case for AP plants as well? I am looking to use a location that can be used so much for other things, but it is between our house, a high fence and on a hill that is uphill north, and while there is a good amount of light, it doesn't get drenched by sunlight for full days, especially in winter.

Cameron

Yea, I would be surprised if the spell check was that good, but I reckon you may have meant the search engine. :wave1:

Hi cherrycam and welcome you are not far from us in Mooroolbark :D

Plants light requirements don't change in AP but most plants do ok with out all day full sun. If in constant shade you may have some problems
