I discovered this site through a homebrew site, homebrewtalk.com. A fellow from Oklahoma was attempting to grow hops with aquaponics. Anyway I've been reading when I get a chance for about 2 weeks. Interesting stuff. My situation is that I'm a minister and live in a church provided parsonage. Which means I can't build anything permenant and also means I won't build anything very large due to the necessity to move every few years. I'm United Methodist, we get moved by the church/are appointed. I kept fish for years and years & helped my parents with their small in-ground Koi pond. I'm trying to talk my 12 yr old to do an aquaponic project for a science fair project. Of course It'd be extremely small/hobby sized. Something like 30-50 Liter fish bin plus grow areas. Anyway I'm doubting she's going to do it. But I am!!! I have multitudes of rubbermaid buckets from 10 L to 100 L. I also have a 500-800 gallon above ground non-rigid pool I'm thinking of using as a fish tank. That'd be pretty big & the only posibility I'd have for being able to grow anything eating size as far as fish are concerned... tough Koi might be nice to look at! Anyway I'm kicking around ideas I'll get back too you guys later. I leave for a reatreat this coming Saturday AM & will be gone for a week. Later, Phillip |

I'm big time into the blues, used to be a little more so pre-kids, played harp, etc., and yes I've had my share of moonshine. Not much of it around these days, mostly just non-taxed liqour... Feds hate that just the same. I'm in Kosciusko MS... aka Oprah's hometown. Thanks for the warm welcome & I'll be more active after the comming week is over as I'm traveling. Btw if you like blues I suggest checking out fat possum records or broke & hungry records. I know some of the guys, & it's the real deal... not some white kid playing riffs! Schlante, Phillip |
