just wanted to say a quick hello in the newbies section, especially to Faye at BYAP :)

We're new to Aquaponics but fell deeply in love with idea after discovering it about a month ago.. as Faye said to us, some people just HAVE to do it, that's us!! I've browsed the forum frequently and will be setting up a file in the member system shortly.

We have 10 gold fish in a fish pond at the front of the house, they are almost hooked up to 2x half blue drums (read as: husband is FIFO and will get it finished this weekend for me). It will be our little community herb garden and advertisement for AP.

Looking forward to having some questions answered by those more experienced!!
Cheers,
Priscilla

forgot to mention that we have plans for a 1000L tank and matching GB setup in the backyard.. the serious stuff. had a minor meltdown last night and decided the fish pond was in the wrong place and wanted to move it ALL into the backyard but I've calmed down since then. took some more measurements and more discussions with my handy hubby..

hopefully we'll get the small system online this weekend and the large 1000L system ready for barra fingerlings when they become available.. any ideas when that might be??

I was going to post up a new member system but the photos I took are too large. and will have to get them resized in order to use them in the forum.

Hi Priscilla,
Welcome to the the world of AP. I am a newbie myself and I am still in the construction phase as well. I am also hoping to be ready for Barra fingerlings come next month :D .
If you look up Tonyabalone on this forum and send him a PM regarding fingerlings I am sure he can help. He is involved with the Aquaculture section of the Fremantle Tafe and they do offer sales of fingerlings to the AP community.
Once again welcome and good luck with getting your system up and running.
