My name is David and my roommate and I decided to build a system. Olomana Gardens is on Oahu as well and Glen does tours so we checked it out and are stoked about having ours up and running. I have been reading and searching a lot and decided to become a member so I can ask some questions that I still have. Overall we both are into being healthy and active and this seems like a good way to easily obtain good veggies. I just hope its worth it. I didn't think we would be spending so much $$!

Thanks,
David

Nice to meet you David.

I live in Nanakuli and I've been checking out AP sites for quite some time. Backyard AP is definitely the source for all your info needs. There is a site that was set up by a member here called Hellbent for Hawaii people. Hopefully you can find out any local info that you might need there.

Welcome to the world of Aquaponics. It's pretty exciting and innovative.

Welcome david

this definately a great and easy way to grow veggies :)
if your looking at it from a mone perpective then grow the veggies you eat a lot of and cost more per kilo
salad veggies are great for this as they grow fast and can be continually harvested as they grow ( here they cost quite a bit too ) and your own veggies always taste better than the ones from the shops too

have fun running your system and dont start too small either as you could become frustrated at the amount of growbed space when all your seedlings dont fit :) for all the veggies you want to eat in the coming season

welcome again to the mad house of aquaponics
