Hello,
I am excited to finally be posting here, I have been reading all of your posts for months now. I was turned on to aquaponics about two months ago, and scince then have built my first back yard rig, and have helped a buddy make one too. My first system has a 20gal fish tank and about 20 gal of grow bed. 1:1 ratio is working well. I have been testing the water frequently and my amonia level peaked about two weeks ago. Scince then I feel like my system has really taken off. My current test levels are Amonia 0, Nitrate 10, Nitrite 0.5, and my PH is 7.4. Right now I have gold fish and am growing cabbage, peas, brussle sprouts, and a mescaline green mix. In the last week or so, scince I think my system has been cycling, my plant growth has been extraordinary.
I am now in the planning stages of my next system. I would like to have about a 300gal tank to grow trout, and continue using a 1:1 ratio for my beds.

Congrats on your system, its no end of fun watching all the stuff grow. Get us some pictures to look at

Always great to have another AP'er. My eyes bugged out when I saw 0, 10, 0.5 though. Most people post in the order of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate .
