I have been lurking around here for several months. I have a small trial system of 1250 gallons in a 32 ft greenhouse. Currently growing goldfish, 4 koi, tilapia (O. Mossambique) and redear sunfish. |

I have a propane forced air heater 70k btu that I use to heat the greenhouse when air temps drop below 39 oF. I run it after sunset and turn it off an hour or 2 after sunrise. This has kept my lowest recorded water temperature of 67.5 oF on a freak april freeze where air temps dropped to 32 oF or 0 C. Before the greenhouse was installed, when air temp dropped to 32 oF the water temperature would drop to 41 oF. |
