Hello!
I'm from Puerto Rico, I'm new on aquaponics. Well a have a master on animal industry from the university of Puerto Rico and I was familiarized on Hydroponics systems. I like the concept of aquaponics and I'm making my research to start on the business. I already start a small system in my house with tomatoes, the system is running well, fish are healthy but the plants are growing slowly and the new leaves are light green. I dont know if the pH is low (acidic) or are potasium or phosphorus deficiencies. Any comments,

Thank You,

Andy (A II)

Hi and welcome.

Sound like a lack of nitrate.

I grow a monster amount of tomato's last year , that needed extra nutes in the form of hummonia , and I can say it was never enough.

Chelated Iron will help the greening of the bush

Pot ash will help the setting of the fruit

Good luck......and feel free to post some pic's, it makes it all the more interesting, looking at other people's system's and idea's

Thank you for your tips. I will try the chelated iron. My system is three weeks old, so I was thinking maybe the nytrogen cycle ins't complete yet and the nitrates aren't availables for plants.
