I have been interested in Aquaponics for a long time. I haven't done anything about it till now.

I'm 35 yo Mom. I babysit, homeschool, permaculture, and now do aquaponics.

The plan is to start small but I can tell that won't last long!

So I'm cleaning the aquarium out, I bought a timer for the pump. I'm letting it dry so I can seal in some tiles for a turtle ramp.

I'm not using fish because I'm looking for a way to simplify the care of my turtle tank and experiment with aquaponics at the same time. I will only use house plants NOT anything to eat! I just don't trust samonella!

To save money I plan on using my fluval 4 filter as the pump. I hope that works. It will be an experiment. Will post pictures soon.

Well, since duckaponics works I'm sure turtleponics will make maintaining your turtle tank much easier! Then of course you will have to make a system for food stuff and it grows and grows :drunken:

Welcome to the forum

I'm sorry there is no cure but at least you have found a place that is very supportive of your new Aquaponic addiction :compress:

Thanks guys. I will start a new topic under systems tomorrow.

I went on a little shopping spree tonight. Bought my tubing, air pump, air stone, water testing kit, hydrorock, and a second heater.

I might have enough stuff to set up both the turtles and the Betta for aquaponics. Its all sitting on my dining room table! Now I'm just waiting for the silicone on the turtle ramp to dry.

Darn 24 hours!

Good lesson though as Aquaponics does require some "Patients" as well.
