You know how it is, you spend a few days out bush, remember how many people you know who have properties, start thinking about organic soil content, despair about clapped out cattle country, hatch plots to compost, think about worms rather than just bulk hedgerows, wonder what you will do with all the worms from a several tonne a year operation and your thoughts turn to aquaculture. My main fascination is something else entirely, and my work (well study at the moment) is totally unrelated, but I've had a fair bit of experience with hydroponics, have worked as a gardener for a few years now, and love the idea of snacking on crayfish. A self contained system, requiring only sunlight, power and and occasional water is definitely my sort of thing and having finally achieved at least some degree of maturity I appreciate the value of going slowly at something new. So my vague plans in regard to AC at the moment are spending at least six months learning, scheming, and generally asking weird and irritating questions of you all while I finish off some other projects, then look at a low cost expandable system that I can put in on a friends property (she's a hippy-girl from way back so the problem isn't maintaining the system it's convincing her to let me eat the crayfish she raised.) Looking forward to learning from you all. |

I'm sure I can come up with a stupid question that no one else has come up with before, but for a while I'll just be reading lots there really is an amazing amount of information hidden through threads here, I might try putting a lot of it together in one document while I still have the eyes of a child. |
