Where can i get some info on buying a "Butal" Pond liner? It needs to be up to 10,ooo litres in a square or cube style form.
Also my water supply is going to be Rain or Tank water. Am i going to have problems with water Hardness ao lack of it?

Shouldn't imagine hardness will be a problem if you're using rain/tank water Bernie... unless you're going to be stocking crustascea ... marron, yabbies, prawns...

And you can address carbonate hardness issues through the buffering affect of utilising shell grit, Calcium Bicarbonate... etc.... the sort of stuff that many of us use to correct pH drift anyway.

Epson salts is another way to address "hardness"..... but generally it's not a huge factor in AP systems anyway....

As to the liner.... any particular reason that it has to be that particular brand??

Welcome, by the way... good to have you here. :D

I know nothing about the particular type of pond liner you mention but I've had very good experience using Firestone Pond Guard Pond liner. It is the EPDM 45 mil rubber pond liner that is really tough and can be folded into most any shape for in ground ponds or even lining grow beds.

Hi TC - I have seen you mention this liner before and refer to it as 45mil. SUrely you mean .45mil. Can't see a liner being 4.5cm thick

1 mil = 0.0254 millimeters - bloody American units ;(

45 mil = 1.14300 millimeters

I don't know the specifics, it is just usually called 45 mil but you are probably right that it is actually .45
