We purchased twelve ducklings this year and quickly realized that despite having had chickens and goats for years NOTHING could prepare us for the mess and the amount of water they go through. I came upon a webpage showing how someone was recycling their duck's waste water through filters and back into the pond and from there arrived at this site. I don't know whether it is possible to substitute fish for ducks, lots more waste/solids etc but figure that if there is a way to do it this forum may help us with an answer. We are looking to construct something over the next 2-3 months and I guess our primary aim is to reduce the amount of water we waste (we have a well!) and if we can get some more veggies out of it also (we do already have a garden)...bonus!!
