Hello,
I'm Myke but somebody took my name. I am just getting in to aquaponics and decided to come here to learn from your mistakes, is that wrong? I hope to be up and running by Spring.

Hiya Myke, welcome to the forum. Although learning from others mistakes is advantageous nothing teaches better than your own mistakes. ;) Plenty of mistakes on this forum to learn from, check out the members build threads or any threads that start with ‘oops’, ‘help’ and ‘my fish died’. :shifty:
Tell us more about the system you’re planning Myke.

Hi Skeggley,
I have a 30X40 barn, and my plan is to build a lean-to green-house on the south (40 foot) wall, I'm thinking 16 feet. I am hoping to put an 8 or 10 foot stock tank in the barn to help keep it cooler, and stocking it with trout. I am sketching out plans trying to get the best layout, but my thought is 4 or 5 plant boxes 3 feet by 8 feet.
It's still early in the planning, so it may change 20 times by the time I read and research and start building.

Hello from a fellow Colorado boy. I've been through Simla a time or two. It's not too different from my town (Aguilar- 400 souls). Good luck with your project! You've definitely come to the right place. Based on my experience, it's highly doubtful that you'll encounter a problem or mystery that these fine folks haven't thoroughly mastered.

Welcome Myke.

I’m new to all of this and found the info on this forum to be invaluable that’s why I signed up.

Good luck with your system. I’d suggest creating a build thread and post up your designs for comments before committing to build. That way if there are any obvious issues or better ideas you can change the plan for a cost of a new sheet of paper.

Cheers!
