Hello everyone just a simple introduction here

I started a small setup approximately 3 months ago have a 55 gallon fish tank with two 28 gallon dwc beds with a spins down filter to remove solid waste system is fully cycled. Expecting pure blue talapia arrival this week. Only problem is my ph is resting at 7.8 tested by api master freshwater kit.

Welcome to the forum  .

I wouldn't be too concerned about the pH, give it some time, it usually comes down on it's own. In the meantime watch for iron deficiencies (yellowing on the newer leaves). If you see an iron deficiency you might need some Chelated iron (EDDHA works well) but other types will work if spray applied.

I had the same problem. I was using tap water. It took many many months for the cabonate in the water to disolve. It never stoped me from growing my tomatoes.

I now use rain water. Times when I need to top up tank with no rain water I use a 2 stage water filter kit. Takes forever to top up but it works.

Now I'm struggling to get it up to 6.8.

Welcome mate. The ph should drop slightly with an advanced system.
As above just add chelated iron if required and seasol. And if you notice any potasium deficiency add some kiwi fruits peels or bananna peels to your grow beds
