Post subject:  Hello from the alpine

My name is Dewansh and I have recently become fascinated with the aquaponics systems and their awesome benefits. I am currently studying online at the University of Canberra but work as a snowboard instructor at Mt Buller in Victoria. This is my second season of work, my first winter season was spent in Japan where I completed my instructor exam as well. Living around alpine areas made me wonder about the possibility of an aquaponic system in rural mountainous communities that rely on food sourced further away from their high altitude home.

Would it be possible to sustain an aquaponic system in a place that snows? Does altitude impact the plants at all, I only know there's less oxygen in the atmosphere and the place I have in mind is ~4,500m above sea level.. Is there anyone who knows of such a system and location that already functions, am I an idiot? I am totally new to this concept but would like to know if this is at all an achievable project.

Nice to meet you all, I look to always be learning.

Welcome to the forum Dewansh  . Are you thinking about an indoor or an outdoor system?

I assume an indoor system would probably be better?

But please tell me if an outdoor would be better?
