New too this world planning on starting a small outdoor system. Heat in the summer might be an issue. Anyone else in Yuma?

Hi Gc, welcome to the forum. I'm in San Diego county but inland. You definitely get the heat for summer and cold nights in winter so the temp range is a challenge. I raise channel catfish since they tolerate extreme temps, but plants may struggle when the water gets above 90°F (fish too due to reduced dissolved oxygen). Also, daily temp fluctuation is stressful for the fish, so do what you can to keep the temp change within 10°F in 24 hours and lots of aeration when the water is warm.

Yeah that's my biggest concern but no means to build a green house right now. Was thinking about burying the sump for some stability.
