New too this world planning on starting a small outdoor system. Heat in the summer might be an issue. Anyone else in Yuma? |

Hi Gc, welcome to the forum. I'm in San Diego county but inland. You definitely get the heat for summer and cold nights in winter so the temp range is a challenge. I raise channel catfish since they tolerate extreme temps, but plants may struggle when the water gets above 90°F (fish too due to reduced dissolved oxygen). Also, daily temp fluctuation is stressful for the fish, so do what you can to keep the temp change within 10°F in 24 hours and lots of aeration when the water is warm. |

Yeah that's my biggest concern but no means to build a green house right now. Was thinking about burying the sump for some stability. |
