Im new to aquaponics. I just recently purchased an ibc tote and 3-55 gallon drums to start my garden. My questions are:
1. What's the best set up for the things have?
2. Which pump would be best? Submerged?
3. Grow beds, media or floating?

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated

The idea that comes to me is to split the 55-gallon drums in half and make them grow beds and use the tote as a fish tank. A pond pump in the 300 to 500 gallon per hour range would do as a pump.

hello from fellow Texan here, as gene stated I would use the 55g for a grow bed, and the tote as a fish tank. One thing you will find fun here in our lovely state is keeping things cool. I am in the process of getting materials to start my system. but have read a lot in here and this place is a awesome for knowledge. I plan on doing grow beds with media, as well as a raft system and an wicking setup so a little of each in my setup, however baby steps for me. enjoy the pages here and welcome.

Another important point is that any time you place your pump in your fish tank raise it up off the bottom so that if something goes wrong you don't pump all the water out.

Pumped my tank down to about six inches last night.
